What to Do in Huntsville Texas

Huntsville is rich with history as it was the home of Sam Houston. (Houston was the president of the Republic of Texas, an independent, sovereign nation which existed for a month shy of ten years from 1836 to 1846.)

Although small compared to the likes of Houston to the south and Dallas to the north, Huntsville continues to grow year after year. And, it’s also a great place to live or visit as it has a lot to see and do:

Take a city tour. Because Sam Houston served as a president, then governor of the state of Texas after it became part of the United States, plus the war with Mexico, there’s plenty of history here. Take a city tour to explore and learn about the many monumental buildings; some of which have existed since the 1830s.

Visit the H.E.A.R.T.S. Veterans Museum. “Helping Every American Remember Through Serving” or H.E.A.R.T.S. is a must see destination. Here, you’ll find an interesting and patriotic experience through military memorabilia, personal service stories, and more.

Go to the Huntsville Cultural District. For those who love music, theater, dance, antiquing, and the like, the Huntsville Cultural District is a wonderful destination to experience.

Of course, there’s always the Huntsville State Park. So, you can do all sorts of things. These include, but aren’t limited to: hike, bike, picnic, fish, camp, and much more.Original article Courtesy of http://www.c21alphatx.com  Your source for Hunstville Texas Real Estate for sale.
